We are excited to announce Oregon ALA’s first ever book club – “Literature, Lunch & Leadership.” Come join us for lively discussions, lunch, networking and most of all...fun!

When: Our first meeting will take place June 26 at noon. Subsequent meetings will be scheduled bi-monthly, also held during the lunch hour.

What: The book selections will have a focus on leadership or work life balance – two subjects that would undoubtedly benefit ALA members.  Is there a book that you have been dying to read?  Please let us know as we compile our list of future reads.

Our first book is Work Rules!: Insights from Inside Google That Will Transform How You Live and Lead by Laszlo Bock, Google’s V.P. of People Operations.  Find Book Here Together we can learn from Google’s success and get an inside look into what makes this multi-billion dollar corporation one of the best places to work.  Let’s discuss how we can apply some of Google’s non-traditional and data-driven management methods to our firms.

Where: Location is TBD.  Once we have a headcount, we will select a downtown meeting spot and send out an announcement.

If you have any questions prior to the first meeting, please contact Desiree Shestakofsky at communications@oregonala.org.

Happy Reading!
