Bringing in new clients and generating more work from current clients is a tough job for many lawyers, but whoever said they have to do it alone? Legal administrators, executive assistants, paraprofessionals, and others have much to contribute to a law firm's business development and marketing activities, not only by supporting the lawyers’ efforts but also through their own contributions and ideas. At this luncheon presentation, John Reed of Rain BDM will discuss the important ways we and other law firm professionals can collaborate with our attorneys and will offer tips and tools to help us impact the business development cultures in our organizations.

John F. Reed is the founder of Rain BDM, a consultancy that helps law firms of all sizes build outstanding client relationships. He trains and coaches attorneys in business development, and his team assists law firms with blog and website content, social media management, strategic marketing planning, and outsourced marketing support.

John has a unique background in law, marketing, and sales, but perhaps the best word to describe him is “translator.” He translates the language of marketing and human behavior for lawyers, helps them communicate the language of law for their target audiences, and gives law firms a common business development language so they can enhance their business development cultures.

John holds a B.S. in Marketing with honors from Babson College, and a J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law. He is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan, a leader within the Legal Marketing Association, and a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® practitioner.

Lunch will be provided.
