Security and privacy of data continues to be an emerging risk for businesses of all kinds, especially for professional service firms. With all the different frameworks out there, how do you determine the right one to use for your business? Pete Miller will present a case study for an engagement he led for a law firm that had a formal audit requirement imposed on them by a major customer. This will be one example of a framework that can be used. He will also compare and contrast others to help you determine which bullseye to aim for.

Pete Miller is a CPA and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a shareholder in the audit and assurance practice at the accounting firm of Clark Nuber P.S.  He has led the firm’s SOC reporting practice since its inception in 2009. Pete has a practice concentration with specialty audits including internal control studies, SOC reporting, and security & privacy audits. Pete is a graduate of Western Washington University and started his career in public accounting with Clark Nuber in 2000. Pete has been a practicing CPA since 2000 and a practicing CFE since 2006. When Pete is not working, you can find him rocking out to music of all kinds, playing the drums, or running.

Lunch will be provided.
