Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

DEI&A Mission Statement

In partnership with ALA International, the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators is committed to promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEI&A) initiatives within our membership, firms, organizations, and business partnerships. We celebrate diverse approaches and points of view. We’re continually growing our network of people, programs, and tools designed to help members grow and manage their careers. Building an inclusive culture encourages, supports, and celebrates all voices in our community and connects us more deeply to our members and the communities we serve.

DEI&A Committee

Our chapter’s DEI&A Committee is (1) an advisory body to Chapter leadership relating to the chapter’s diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility goals and priorities, (2) a local-level resource for all ALA Oregon Chapter members, and (3) an advocacy group for DEI&A initiatives and best practices. The DEI&A Committee is committed to cultivating inclusion and promoting diversity and accessibility for the benefit of ALA Oregon. The mission of ALA Oregon’s DEI&A Committee is to serve Chapter leadership and Chapter members by:

  • Creating awareness of and setting the groundwork for an inclusive and diverse Chapter;

  • Advocating the importance of DEI&A initiatives and programming within the chapter;

  • Providing written and digital educational content and relevant resources to assist Chapter members and the needs of the organizations they represent;

  • Encouraging member engagement through involvement in DEI&A initiatives.
